Nice piece. I'm a bit of a frites lover myself, though as a vegetarian I couldn't help wondering what my version of moules et frites might be when I visit. If I were in Hong Kong, I know I could find a veggie fake-mussels dish, but then the fries probably wouldn't be that good.
If you happen to be coming through Hong Kong, I can recommend the fries at Wooloomooloo in Tsim Sha Tsui, and the view from the balcony will also take your breath away.

Thanks, this helped me a lot!

Can you just please help me with a new form, for instance if I want to store the $LogonUser into a field in my custom database. How should my InsertCommand look?

Thanks again!

That was very nice Gavin, warm and real. I happened to wander back
to Rob's Facebook page, and saw there was a web site, and that
led to you. Thanks.

Gavin,

We are running SP 2007 and we reached a 1200 picture upload limit in one of our sites. Does your DAM have any limitations for # of pics that can be uploaded?

Also, we are upgrading to SP 2010, have you tested your DAM on SP 2010?

You can get a penscanner from "Infoscan" that will scan text and 1d and 2d barcodes and store them for later when you transfer to the computer. It can also scan pictures but that is a lot of work.
It does run on batteries and can transfer to computer in a variety of formats-IR, Cable and wireless. It works well, too.

This is written so well, it makes me sad I didn't know Rob. However, it also reminds me to appreciate those in my life who are truly special. Thanks.

What a nice remembrance, Gavin. I remember Rob from the Flint/Ann Arbor Roundup, and a few meetings in various places after. I'm sorry I fell out of his orbit, and yours.

Gavin,
We are using picture libraries extensively at my company. However, we are having issues connecting filters to the web parts displaying the libraries on web part pages. Did you run into this? I can't seem to find any documented limitations of SharePoint 2007 picture libraries so I can confirm or deny that it is expected behaviour.

Any assistance is much appreciated!
